The future plans for the development of mining machines
Very often in the media, particularly on television, we can observe enormous mining equipment working in opencast pits all over the world. Enormous earthmoving machines penetrating the tons of gravel materials to bring to the ground level the riches from under the level of the ground.
Even though Polish machinery is widely used in mines, it is not the situation that Polish producers have a monopoly on supplying domestic mines.
However, we give the choice of machinery parameters to miners. Each machine working on the outcrop is an expense of several dozen million zlotys for the pit, but once in many years. The requirement of the future is to replace the miners, in their most dangerous and exhausting work in openpit and subterranean mines, mining machines with AI. These should be mining machines that hear, see and feel, and therefore self-drilling and self-steering, with minimal human interference. The unconditional need to increment the security, availability and efficiency of mining machinery and instruments used in extensive and complex excavating and transportations systems of opencast mines reqUEsts remote control of equipment or even the autonomy of their operation. This is importantly truthful for those zones of the world where there are troubles in involve specialists to work in the openpit mine (mining drilling equipment) because of its whereabouts away from human neighborhood and in a weather that is inhospitable to people.
Currently, openpit mines are the most progressive in the implementation of full automation, increasingly evolving into autonomous operation of mining machines.
