What do you do after taking tablets out of the cardboard packaging? You may read few pieces of information but typically the vast majority of us simply put it in a trash can. No large deal, right? It’s just a simple packaging.
However, right behind the simplest pharmaceutical packaging, there’s a history and a lot of different requirements and rules that need to be fulfilled.
Alongside with the other things, one of the essential restriction here is kid resistance. We want to avoid a situation where a child takes the bottle or a strip full of tablets and easily open it. This should not be the case for any medical packaging. Obviously, we all should do everything that is possible to retain medicaments out of kids. Yet another thing here is that such containers, bottles or strips should be senior friendly which implies, that a manufacturer should look after a simple dispensing system alongside with a safe, easy opening and closing mechanism. All kinds of pharmaceutical packaging must be hermetically sealed to be able to protect its content from various environmental conditions.
So essentially, a packaging plays various roles. Apart from the previously mentioned, a cardboard box packed with pills plays an essential – from a manufacturer’s perspective – marketing part. It may make any containers or boxes noticeable for the customer. Additionally, this should somehow attract a buyer.
Having in mind the mentioned earlier restrictions, marketing specialists have a hard job. If they plan how the packaging should look like, they need to think about all of the requirements and restrictions.
